Present: Jonathan Machen, Kabir, Kathryn Alexander, Gene Langlois, Maria Downing, Etta Habegger. Location: Kabir's house
Last months minutes were approved.
The items on the agenda that were discussed:
The lockbox for rent checks has been installed in the wash house
Jonathan gave an update of CU project/home 81. A meeting was held at CU on April 7 that designated responsibilities. Moving the home in the right spot is a priority for the MHA.
The issue of parking tags was brought up again. it was agreed to try out the stickers route simply to help monitor who is here legally, and who is a guest.
The Park walk-through scheduled for 4/12 was discussed as well as how to arrive at standards.
Issue of advocating for residents: We need to clarify the role of the MHA so residents have the right to petition, but they know that MHA can't take a side, they can only make judgments. Kathryn suggested the MHA make a "statement of the impartiality" in order to treat all residents fairly. MHA will hear all residents, but will not take a position in support or non-support of a resident - we can make a judgment, but won't advocate.
Next: Status of enforcing the rules and regs. It was decided that waiting for the formal lease procedure to enforce some of the more serious infractions of the rules and regulations was the best action for now.
Why haven't the leases come out yet? The explanation: Thistle had a project with deadlines, lots of closings, which is why the Mapleton leases have not moved forward. Target date for leases: April 22
What lots are available to move into/are good/have electricity/plumbing issues We need an inventory of each empty lot and the status of it.
Etta a FAQ sheet for residents would be a good idea. - Kathryn will do...
